Bathukamma Festival

Bathukamma is the vibrant floral festival of Telangana, celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm by women to honor Goddess Gauri and pray for prosperity, happiness, and good health. During the nine-day festival, women create beautifully arranged flower stacks using seasonal blossoms, gather in groups to sing traditional folk songs, and perform circular dances around the Bathukamma. The celebrations conclude with the immersion of the flower arrangements in lakes, ponds, or rivers, symbolizing gratitude to nature and the goddess. In Peddapalli district, Bathukamma is one of the most cherished cultural festivals, bringing together families and communities to celebrate Telangana’s rich heritage, traditions, and unity.
